BIO
I'm Tracy Hankwitz - married and mama to 4 grown kids. Plants and music have been my two big passions in life. I have a BA in music as well as a degree in Horticulture with a Landscape Design emphasis. I taught horticulture classes at Gateway Technical College as an adjunct for five years. I have designed, installed, and maintained landscapes for 20 years. 

Currently I am general manager of Burlington Garden Center and owner of Bella Botanica. I offer garden consultations, write articles, and speak on gardening topics.   

Formerly, I gardened on 2 acres in a rural setting and now garden in a corner city lot. Designing gardens is like painting a living picture that is always changing. It's important to me to listen to the spirit of place, to integrate natives and edibles, and to bring as much biodiversity as possible.
